Hello Sissel. Welcome! Your story is very similar, except I don’t sing…..and you should be happy with that:) I won’t bore you with details I was an experienced guitar player with a classical guitar and had studied classical guitar. Tomas advised be not to join, that his class was beneath my capabilities. I joined years ago have been very happy and I’m Many years older than you are. Tomas is a very knowledgeable and caring person and has greatly increased my knowledge of music.

Welcome Terry. If you haven’t already you will find learning the guitar to be a challenge,

but a fun one. The system used here is self paced, has a good variety of topics to work on. And……. a real live instructor/ moderator who cares and will help you through the tough spots. We all have them. Welcome again and best wishes with you journey.

High Dermot and welcome to a great place! Ireland to Memphis? That

had to be a culture shock. I think you’ve found a home. You picked a good place to get help with your goals.

    Hi Steve

I’m Jack. You are not alone many of us have struggled with this.

Tomas is a great guy with his heart in the right place. I’ve been

around hear quite a while. Tomas teaches a very broad curriculum

and can be challenging to follow (Tomas I still Love you)

What I do is pick out one or two things that interest me and put a lot

of emphasis on them and broad brush the rest. For me it’s chords.

I work with them up and down the fretboard, build progressions,

use different voicings (varied forms of the same chord) and play them

with varied methods and emphasis. (styles)

I actually think some of my sruff sounds pretty good (:

And by the way, I’m old (80)

    Keep up the good work,

    Jack
