    Hi Morris,

Glad to see you here. My Dad gave me my guitar almost 50 years ago, but I was busy raising a family, work, and a bunch of other excuses, I started taking lessons with Tomas after I retired. Its been really fun for the last 3 years here and plan to continue.

(and yes, “Dust in the Wind” is the song I always wanted to play too, and now I can play the entire song.)

    Hi Anthony,

Happy Birthday,, you share that day with my brother as well! Congrats on wanting to play the guitar. There is quite a sense of accomplishment when you can play your first song all the way thru.

Good choice with Tomas, he’ll help you find your way with lessons that teach you fundamentals and build skills to play songs. Enjoy the journey

Hi Joe. I’m 62 and just started my 3rd year with Tomas. My Dad gave me a guitar when I was 18, and am finally getting around to playing it. I’m sure you’ll do fine here. Real Guitar Success is fun because you can set your own pace. If you are like me, you just want to sit down and play a song, Tomas makes learning easy, follow the lessons and have a good time. Tim

    Hi Paul,

I have been using these D’Addario nylon strings. I like the tone, and I change them about every 6 months as well. They make several different sizes, you’ll have to experiment and see what you like best.

Most all the strings they make now are very good. I use Ernie Ball strings on my electric guitar.

    Good luck, 😎

    Hi Tomas,

Ok, I see what you did there. (and you added an extra course on the “Beginner’s Journey” after I finished them and moved on.) So I’m going back and finishing that before moving on. Makes sense now and I feel I can get back on track. Thanks.

    Hi Tomas,

Oh boy, where do I start. I’d have to say I love Classic Rock, anything from the Beattles, Stones, Elvis Costello, and Steely Dan. I  love the guitars in Boston, Doobie Brothers, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I went thru a Cure phase. Not much for “grunge, or country music.

You’d have to list my fav guitar players as Carlos Santana, Stevie Ray, Prince, and Eddie VanHalen. I saw George Thorogood, Steve Miller Band and Ted Nudgent when I was 17, Life changing. And I did meet Jimmy Buffet once (not a great guitar player, but probably one of the funnies people I’ve ever met).

I thought Kings of Leon where the bomb when they came out, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Death Cab for Cuties rocked. Current favorite, Sun Kill Moon’s, “Bens my Friend”.

Thru the Internet, I have (Nearly) mastered “Dust in the Wind”, and “Wish you where here” by Pink Floyd.

I just want to play some music. And, I want to be able to play with confidence.

    Lets have some fun,

    sincerly Tim
