    Hi Seth,
Yes, professionals use bar chords. Have you started “Barre Chords for Everyone” yet? What guitar are you playing on (type, make)?

Welcome Penny. Thanks for letting us know a little about you.
One of my favorite electrics is a Fender Squier. I have much more expensive guitars, but I like the sound of that one.

Hi Brian. Welcome to RGS. Thank you for the in-depth introduction. It’s great to get to know you.

I think I have you all sorted out now with the forum. For some reason it got flagged as spam. I didn’t know that was a possibility but I learn something new everyday. My tech support asked me to monitor your replies and let them know if everything’s working now.

I’m curious what kinds of music do you listen to and what styles would you like to play?

I’ve dealt with this for the past couple of years. I manage it with stretching and Ibuprophen.

    Hi Christian,

No, the course is designed to give you the materials at the correct times when it’s most useful. Previous steps will prepare you for steps coming up.

If you’re anything like me you’re used to doing things your own way. The best guitar instructor I’ve ever had was the one who asked me to suspend my ideas on how it should go and follow his program. I’m sure glad I did.

I ask you to consider following my program and see how it works for you. You can always make more decisions in the future.

This means I’m asking you to forget about downloading all the tabs and chords and trying to practice things out of order. Take the lessons a step at a time and download the materials that are offered (or view them on the screen as a PDF).

I explain what I’m doing a little at a time along the way. I believe if you give it a shot it will make sense as you progress.
