[email protected]MemberHi annie:
Welcome to a great spot!
I think I followed you into the live training yesterday.
You asked some great questions. I think you’ve already
figured it out, Tomas is a great guy. Your musical Back ground
will serve you well. Hey don’t sweat the bar chords yes you won’t
do it in a day. Follow tomas’ Bar chord lesson DON”T try to do it in a hurry
Little by little you will get them. I repeat don’t rush it.
Welcome again and good luck.
Jack
Oh.. I play a fender acoustic also.
[email protected]MemberHi Carl
Welcome! we’re neighbors I’m over in Hereford AZ South of Sierra Vista. New, Heck we’re all new .
It’s just some newbies have more time in than others. Retired? You’ll fit in just fine’
It’s possible the only one that is not is Tomas. That works out just right because
he has to work hard to keep all of us happy. I think this is a great spotand I believe you
will also
Best of Luck
Jack
[email protected]MemberHi Adam You asked so I’ll tell you. I probably took guitar lessons before you were born. Then life happened (long story).
about fifteen years ago I got serious about classical guitar. I soon learned I was no good. Didn’t learn much music.
except ‘ You play it like this because that’s the way it is written!’ But a fellow student and I actually made a little money
playing backgound music ( He was even worse than I am) But, with two guitars any thing sounds good and
the audience isn’t listening anyway. got hurt. had to layoff a couple of years. and then I found Tomas !
I’m still no good BUT I know more and I’m having fun.

in your introduction. I’ve had very good luck here.
I see Tomas welcomed you so I won’t ask
How many Aussies fit here 🙂

[email protected]MemberHi Larry
I certainly agree with Tomas. But, here is a different twist that may help you. [This will not work if you are using any open strings.]
A way to help you remember scales is to pay attention to the shape of the scale (pattern) (sequence),
and the note and string it starts on. odds a very good that it will repeat. You can play another scale if
you play the same Pattern using the same string and a different note.
I intentionally left out the theory. don’t dwell on this it’s just a tip.
Jack
Oh the name of the scale is the first note you play.

Where the heck is Alameda? Is it in the LA area?
I’m Jack. Born and raised in Albany Calif.
I spent time at the old Navel Air Station in the Marine Corps.
I’m in Arizona now. I’ve been here with Tomas awhile now.
It’s been a very good experience. He’s very helpful.
If you need him use him.
Best of luck

[email protected]MemberHi Matt
Welcome to the group. I have found this site to be VERY helpful.
And, like you I’m not a newbee. Tomas has helped me with many things
and I appreciate his efforts. I’m certain it will be the same for you.
Good Luck
Jack
[email protected]MemberWelcome Graham:
Yes… But it can be done Hi I’m Jack for Hereford AZ
for what its worth I’m 78 you’ll also run into Bob he’s 79
OK, an old guy’s advice. Pay close attention to Tomas’s details on chord fingering
and slow down. when you think you’ve slowed down go slower 🙂
Your trying to build muscle memory. As we get older our muscles
get dumber. Mine are downrite stupid!
Good Luck and enjoy your trip.
Jack
[email protected]MemberHi Larry I actually know where you are.
Tomas has had to do that with all of us.
He’s just a kid and still has a lot of energy
‘that will probably draw a response he just had a birthday ect. ect.ect.
Larry do you have enough guitars? Sounds like your
freshly retired so you must owe yourself one more!
I think you picked the right spot good luck
with your endeavor.
Jack
