Pattern 2 is another octave pattern. This time we’ll jump up 3 strings instead of two. This is where knowing your intervals comes in very handy! When you know your musical alphabet and can find the octaves, you can find notes much easier.

You might notice I keep saying “find”. Memorization only comes through repetition and that will come in time. Right now it’s more important to have the tools to find the notes. And being able to find those notes consistently will help you memorize the notes.
