Lesson 4 – Finding Notes On The 5th String

- DESCRIPTION
I find it most important to memorize the notes on the 5th and 6th strings first. When you know these you can start to play moveable chords and scales all over the fretboard. From there I have many tricks to find the notes on other strings based on these two.
If you’re familiar with the 80/20 rule, you can think of these two strings as the 80%.

I see what you mean about knowing the notes on 6th & 5th strings brings it together for knowing the root note , which just clicked for me as I have been learning the barr chords, oh my gosh light bulbs flashing….
