Scale Play-Along: G Minor Pentatonic

VIDEO

Now that you’ve got the G minor pentatonic scale under your fingers, it’s time to bring it to life—by playing along with a real groove.

In this session, you’ll jam to a custom backing track called Walking the Blues Cat—a laid-back blues tune designed to help you ease into playing with music. It’s common for students to feel overwhelmed when they hear drums, bass, and other instruments all at once. This is your chance to get comfortable with that full-band sound while sticking to the scale shapes you’ve already learned.

Start simple, even if you think you’re ready for more. Feeling the beat, locking in with the rhythm, and just playing one or two notes in time can be a big step forward. Then, when you’re ready, try double-time for a fun challenge.

Actually enjoying the by play lessons this week. I did the regular course on it quite awhile ago. I hated it because it was so hard. It was worthwhile tho. It’s made the lessons this week go so much better.

That was even “funner.” I play with others and only play chords so this helps me feel freer.
