Let’s take a barre chord and use it to learn a new technique. We talked about the palm mute earlier in this series. That uses your picking hand to mute the strings. You can also use our fretting hand to mute, but for a different use. While a palm mute lets the strings ring out, the left hand mute doesn’t. This gives you a staccato sound.
The uses of this technique are vast. We’ll use the technique for a Reggae style strum.
