4.2 Switching in the Key of G
Certain keys work better on the guitar than others. We looked at the key of C Major in the last chapter. Another key that works very well is the key of G Major. Most of the key can be played with open chords. There’s actually only one chord that has to be a barre chord. And that’s the change we’ll work on.
Something to consider: Barre chords offer a different voicing than open chords. You might not need to use a barre chord, but it might sound better than an open chord. The next time you learn a song, try playing it with open chords and barre chords. Which one do you like better?
