Greetings and welcome to the month of May!
Our course for this month has been created to help you improve your guitar skills. We will focus on learning new and beautiful melodies, finger exercises, and delve into the Spanish classical guitar fingerstyle. Additionally, we will explore the minor pentatonic scale, practice a descending bass line exercise, and work on arpeggios, two-by-copy play exercises, and a fun guitar lick.
One of the exercises we will cover in this course is called “finger twisters”. It’s like a tongue twister for your hand, and it will help improve your finger dexterity and coordination.
We will also explore the Spanish classical guitar style, which requires fingerstyle technique. You will learn a new melody that incorporates fingerstyle playing, where you’ll play the bass and melody notes.
Next, we’ll dive into the minor pentatonic scale. You’ll learn what makes this scale unique and how to use it to create beautiful melodies and improvisations.
Furthermore, we’ll practice a fun descending chord progression to learn a couple of common ways to play major 7th and minor 7th chords.
And of course, we’ll do the guitar students’ all-time favorite by-copy play method for the E minor scale and the I-IV-V chord progression in the C major scale. This is a simple and effective way to learn scales and chords.
By the end of this course, you’ll have improved your finger dexterity, learned new fingerstyle techniques, and gained a better understanding of various scales and chords. We designed this course to help you take your guitar playing to the next level while having fun along the way. Enjoy!

Thanks Tomas for another wonderful month of Guitar Gym. I always enjoy your Spanish finger style and there was lots of good practice with baby chords and picking, which included the fifth to ninth frets.
