By Copy Play: G Minor Pentatonic
Today’s session is all about “By Copy Play,” a powerful way to train your ear while jamming with the G minor pentatonic scale.
If you’ve done this before, you’ll feel right at home. But if it’s new to you, don’t worry—I’ve got you. I’ll play a short phrase, then you’ll play it back. It’s simple in structure, but surprisingly effective for sharpening your ear and learning to find the right notes by listening, not just memorizing.
We’ll go through three levels of call-and-response patterns based on the scale shapes from our last session. As we move up, the rhythms get a bit more interesting to challenge you in a fun way. Don’t aim for perfection—treat it like a musical workout. You’ll build skills just by showing up and giving it a go.

Great, Tomas. I really missed the By Copy Play exercises!
That’s a lot of fun. Thanks for the three levels as it helps to aspire to the next level.
