Repeating which parts for how long?

    Hello — I am trying to practice using the tab documents and playing along using PIP… but I don’t understand the repeat symbols on the tab sheets. How do I know which parts to repeat, when to repeat them, and how many times to repeat each part? I am sorry, I’ve been trying to pay close attention, but this is all completely new to me. If I missed that video lesson please point me to it and I’ll be happy to review!

    Hi Ria,

    Great question! I’ve covered different aspects of repeats throughout the three beginner courses (see map attached), but it sounds like it would be helpful to go a bit deeper.

    If you can point me to a specific lesson that has the repeats you’re wondering about, I’ll take a look. I’m thinking of creating a short video, and it’d be great to use that exact piece of tablature as an example.

    Wow! Thank you so much! I’m just starting in the “beginner’s quick start” section and was trying to figure out the “I can see” tab document. I can play along with the video…I’m just having a hard time playing it cold without the video mostly because I don’t know what the repeat things mean. I know it has something to do with brackets and dots…but that’s about it!
