Fingers on chord all at once

I still struggle to get all my left hand fingers on a chord (G or C, for example) at the same time. I’m afraid it has become a habit to get maybe 2 fingers working together, but the remaining fingers are late. Any ideas on how I can break this bad habit and train my fingers to work together better?

    Hi Robin,

Thanks for sending in such a thoughtful question. It’s a great one and it’s something many guitar players run into at some point — so I’d love to give it the attention it deserves.

I’ve added your question to today’s Real Guitar Live session, where I can walk through it step by step, demonstrate it on the guitar, and share a few simple exercises that should help your fingers start working together more naturally.

If you’re able to join us live, wonderful. If not, no worries at all — I’ll be recording the session and adding timestamps so you can jump straight to your question when you watch the replay. I’ll also do my best to come back here and share the link with you afterward.

I’m really glad you asked this. Questions like yours help everyone learn.
