I used Malaguena to extend a different musical piece Asturias. Let me explain Asturias is around seven minutes in length, however because of arthritis it really hurts to play barr chords, like electrical shock pain. I therefore went through and stripped out barr chords and this made Asturias really short. I decided I was going to incorporate portions of Malaguena into Asturias. It included a lot of muttering to myself and pacing around and self reflecting. After weeks of running into a brick wall I finally had a finished product or maybe I just got tired of messing around with it. Unless you want to loose your mind it’s not recommended. If you Google Malaguena you’ll find a gazillion ways to play. I prefer sticking as close to the original by Ernesto Lecuona. I personally like Michael Lucarelli version of it, because he stays pretty close to the original.
