The strumming pattern we’re looking at in this lesson is called a muted strum. The term “mute” carries a couple meanings on guitar. You might know the palm mute, where the notes are still audible and ring out.
The mute we’re talking about here is more like a karate chop. Sounds pretty cool, right? It’s a very common strumming pattern in genres like Acoustic Rock and Folk.
