One of the common tropes in Blues music is an ending walk up to end the song. If this riff sounds familiar, that’s why. It’s been used in one way or another by so many Blues (and Rockabilly) bands over the decades. I’m pretty sure I’ve even heard it in some form in Jazz songs! 

It’s a fun little riff that has a chromatic walk up before ending on a big open G chord. Chromatic just means note’s played sequentially, not necessarily in a key or scale. That’s part of what gives this riff so much color.
