Part #3: Adding a New Chord for a Fresh Feel

In Part 3, we introduce a new chord that adds a different flavor to the song. Even with this addition, the melody still echoes the first and second parts—a tried-and-true songwriting technique that creates continuity by keeping the melody familiar across sections.

But pay close attention to the feel when we bring in the C major chord. It suddenly feels uplifting, almost triumphant. This is another classic songwriting trick: a small shift in chords can change the entire mood!
