All Together: Walking The Blues Cat

VIDEO

You’ve learned the scales. You’ve practiced licks. You’ve jammed with backing tracks. Now it’s time to put it all together—and make it your own.

In this session, we shift into full-on improvisation. There’s no “one right way” to do it. You’ll take the tools you’ve built over the past few sessions—scale shapes, licks, rhythmic feel—and start combining them in ways that reflect your own musical voice. I’ll walk you through some examples, but this is your space to explore.

Start simple. Don’t feel like you have to use everything at once. Even two or three notes, played with good timing and feel, can create a meaningful solo. From there, you can build and experiment. Use the backing tracks to try out ideas, make mistakes, find cool surprises, and just enjoy the process.

Improvising is really not my thing. But with that jazzy music in the background again you got me to overcome my fear. So I bookmarked this lesson in order to continue doing it each day. Yes!
