Heavenly Walkdown

In today’s session, we’re diving into something truly iconic—the bass line from Stand By Me. We’re calling it the Heavenly Walk Down, and once you hear it, you’ll understand why. This line might seem simple at first, but nailing it is all about timing, finger control, and smooth fretboard movement. Plus, once you get it down, it’s a blast to play!

We’ll break everything down step-by-step, starting with the notes and adding an optional mute technique for extra flair. Don’t worry if it feels a bit tricky at first—just keep practicing whenever you can, even if it’s only for a few minutes at a time.

It is fantastic to master this bass line, at least trying it. But it is coming.
What you didn’t mention in yesterday’s lesson is that the skin of the hand/wrist is going to be “a bit” challenged playing the mute technique. It is not for nothing you advise to play rather several times a little bit as one moment very long time.
Even with gitar playing you become wiser….
