A lot of the fun of playing guitar is learning to play riffs and licks that you like. For a lot of guitar players this was the reason they picked up the guitar in the first place. While learning only riffs is not the best strategy to play fluent guitar It’s a great way to learn new techniques while keeping the guitar journey exciting.

Every guitar player plays songs differently. If you’ve ever seen a cover band live you’ll see that the guitar player takes some liberties. Actually, even the bands who wrote the riffs might play them differently live.

That’s what we’re capturing in this series. Some of these will be exactly what the guitarists play on the recordings. Some will be simplified to make them more accessible. And some of the licks and riffs are simply inspired by songs.

I would encourage you to pick the ones that interest you and have fun with them.
