Modern Pop Strum
You might be surprised to know that there are several common strumming patterns. There are a few reasons for this. Most of them have to do with common time signatures and how we feel Western music.
This strum is going to use a different time signature than our standard 4/4. It’s called 6/8. That means there are six beats in each measure, and they’re felt with eighth notes. Don’t worry if that doesn’t make sense now. Just file the info away.
