Lesson 17 of 28
In Progress

5-17 Major Chords in A (A, D, E)

May 27, 2019

The notes in the A Major scale are A, B, C#, D, E, F#, and G#. So what chords do you think are Major?

That’s right! The I, IV, and V chords. Also known as A, D, and E in the key of A Major. These major chords together combine for a “I, IV, V” (one, four, five) chord progression. This progression is very popular in all kinds of music genres. Play the A, D, and E together and see if it sounds like a song you know.
