I found that I couldn’t play the E and F chords in the A-shape i.e. not all the strings were ringing out, till I discovered that if I move the partial bar finger closer to the fret, then I could do it. I should mention that I’m using a steel-string acoustic guitar.
Congratulations Shulamit… nailing the subtle adjustments necessary to be able to play the A-shaped bar chord clearly every time is a big win. Another milestone in your guitar playing journey!
This lesson helped me clean up some of my issues with the A shaped barre chords as well. They are starting to ring out more clear.
That’s good to hear. Again try to consider this a work in progress. One day you’ll look down and realize it’s not difficult anymore.
