One thing that isn’t very common in popular music these days is chord progressions that change. Here’s what I mean by that. You’ll often see four chords repeat 8 or 16 times for the verse. Then the chorus has 3 or 4 chords that repeat, then back to the verse.

And easy way to spice up your chord progressions is to use two chord patterns in your verse (for example). That’s the progression we’ll learn today. The progressions are similar, but different enough that it adds a certain complexity to the song.
