Hi Bill,

You can either play the melody and chords separate (called a duo – two instruments playing together), or you can use an arrangement that is for solo guitar. That would be playing the chords and melody together on one instrument. This particular arrangement is for a duo. When I want to play a duo by myself I record one part (usually the chords) and then play the melody with it.

If you’d like to see some solo arrangements check out the SONGS link at the top of every page. Playing “solos” is generally more advanced, though there are different levels of solo arrangements.

Very good tune. Playing solo, how do you put the melody and finger style together in one song, or do you? Can you play the melody first then go into finger style or visa versa or are these separate songs ?
