As guitar players it’s a good idea to have a lot of licks in our trick bag. These licks teach us different techniques and make us better all around players. They also give us the foundation of improvisation.
Everyone who improvises uses licks that they know. Or play new licks based off of licks they know. Once you learn this, use this as a jumping point in improvisation. Try using the same notes in a different order and see how it sounds!
