Malaguena can be considered a traditional Spanish song. You might see it played a variety of ways, which is common for traditional or standard songs.
I like to teach it because it sounds different than a lot of fingerstyle songs you might learn at this point in your journey. Mixing things up and learning different styles is a proven way to stay excited and motivated to play guitar.
