There are many variations of the Bossa Nova rhythm. But they all essentially come from a version like this one. This is a basic or simplified version of the rhythm. You’ll use your fingers instead of a pick.
The rhythm pattern might be a little tricky at first. This is a good thing! A lot of Western rhythm is played pretty straight. A more rhythmic and syncopated pattern like this will really help you develop your sense of rhythm and timing.
