Am VERY slow at fingerpicking………one question I have is are there any exercises, aside from plain repetition, to be able to know where the correct strings are without looking?
Absolutely… The first thing to do is to get the basic exercises: Real Guitar U > Fingerstyle > Fingerpicking Magic 101 – Foundations. The concept of having good basics is especially true with fingerstyle guitar.
