Part #3 introduces a new chord to the song. Even with the new chord, the melody kind of sounds like the first and second part. This is a tried and true songwriting technique. The melody doesn’t change dramatically from section to section. It creates continuity.
But notice how the feel changes when we play the C Major chord. It sounds uplifting and triumphant. This is another classic songwriting technique.
We’ll unpack the music theory behind this in later lessons. But it’s helpful to notice these tricks.
