A time signature is how we measure the feel and rhythm of a song. The first number is how many beats are in the measure. The second number is what note gets the accent.
The 6/8 time signature has six beats per measure, with the eighth notes accented. It sounds complicated, but it’s really all about feel. This strum pattern is a foundational one and I’m sure it will sound familiar.
