How would you suggest I strum this if I’m not using a pick?

Hi Laurlei… it’s been while since I’ve heard from you.

It’s very doable. The only part that different is the picking (in this case finger) technique. If you haven’t already you’ll want to learn this technique. here’s a lesson: https://realguitarsuccess.com/courses/monthly-practice-plan-january-2023/lessons/3-strumming-with-thumb-and-fingers/

I’ve played a version with my fingers so you can hear what it will sound (and look) like: https://youtu.be/PaNzBVpbpaY

Finally I am getting some fun strumming differently than what I was doing for years. Dynamics, Timing, and strumming the right string.
Lovely. Good lesson. even best so far.

Hi Tomas, Em7 second finger on the 4th string 2nd fret optional?

Yes, actually it is. It would be actually swapping out one note in the chord for another. The sound doesn’t change much. All said and done I often play it that way with the second finger on the 4th string, 2nd fret
