1-4 Playing Simple C & G In Time

DOWNLOAD VIDEO

  • DESCRIPTION

Now that you’re more comfortable changing between the C and G chords, let’s play along with the band! Don’t worry if it’s not perfect. The goal is to practice changing chords in time with the band, without thinking about it too much.

So sorry I didn’t know exactly where I should reply with this. I am so excited to start practicing these jam tracks. I am so thrilled that I can actually play with something or someone and I am so excited to now be actually joined up. You have so many resources in your style of teaching is amazing. Everything you talk about or say that students think is exactly what I do think lol.

I would just like to say one thing you have given me hope to continue to pursue and press on for the journey that I know I will reach at some point, but during the process I will be enjoying it minus the mess ups lol

I do have one question I have been playing for about seven months and for whatever reason changing chords is my focus that I really need to practice on . the D chord is a very simple chord. I can play it, but there are so many times when I try to change and land my fingers on that cord I don’t know if it’s my age or what I land it about 70% of the time it’s very frustrating because if I go super slow I can play it I just don’t understand why this scored the easiest is such an odd chord for me to land when I change back to it .

Blessings and thank you for everything that you put out there to teach others!

was fun second day back to playing fingers so sore that its actually nice to do the one pressed root with the 3rd and 5th as sore fingers hurt alot. I went ahead and played solo on bottom e string going up from the g to around 12 fret E and did solo in C major/A minor for fun. Going through all these to make sure dont miss something I have forgotten after 20-30 years. tried to use rubbing alcohol on finger tips to dry them out(read was Eric Clapton trick on google) hopefully does not take full 10 days to get calluses and I can speed up process by pushing it this really sucks so painful already have blisters invisible under the skin.

I can’t tell you how much fun this lesson is! I really had a great time playing along with you and the band^^ Merci beaucoup !

You’re very welcome Yvette. Thanks for letting me know and keep up the good work.

Thomas, I love the “Beginner’s Journey so far. As you have probably heard a million times in your teaching career, “I’ve been messing around with the guitar for years, a lesson here, a lesson there. But I never seem to make progress!” That’s been me. But I’m seeing progress with the C and G chord changing exercise and how that will help down the road with more chord changes. Essentially, we are learning the basics of rhythm and the chord changes that make “playing the guitar.” I hope I understand what you are trying to teach here, in any case I’m having fun! Thanks!!
